Orlando Web Design Firm Designs E-ticketing Solutions for Leading Beauty Industry Convention

September 05, 2011 /Web PR News/ -- Next Horizon Networking and Technology, a computer and web technology design and services company, designed a custom e-ticketing solution for one of the largest hair and beauty conventions in the nation. The e-ticketing solution successfully reduced the number of unlicensed attendees at the Premiere Orlando International Show held annually in Orlando.

"Next Horizon's e-ticketing solution worked so well that Premiere has set a goal for next year's show of 90 percent of all ticketing to be e-tickets," said Harry Ellis III, IT Manager at Next Horizon

Premiere Show Group stages Premiere Orlando International, one of the hair and beauty industry's leading conventions, attracting high profile names in the salon business to Orlando's Orange County Convention Center for the latest in education, competitions, trend setting and product launches in hair, nails, spa, make-up and business. The 2011 convention was held June 4-6.

Only licensed beauty industry professionals are supposed to attend the show; however, Premiere Show Group estimated that 20-30 percent of the attendees each year were not licensed. Premiere Show Group approached Next Horizon Networking and Technology, which already handled Premiere's web design, web hosting and search engine optimization, to create an e-ticketing solution to cut down on the number of unlicensed attendees.

Premiere Show Group also wanted to address the issue of "diversion" in which a large retailer attends a convention, buys beauty/hair products in bulk and then undercuts salons in price.

Next Horizon's e-ticketing solution successfully reduced the number of unlicensed attendees by processing each online ticket request through a database of licensed professionals. Ticket buyers who did not have active cosmetology licenses could not order through the e-ticketing process and had to place phone orders. By requiring all e-ticket buyers to be licensed professionals, diversion also was reduced. And by having all attendees licensed and tracked, anyone not following the rules for the show could be banned for future events.

In addition, e-ticketing allowed Premiere Show Group to increase lead generation. Using the validated data gathered, Next Horizon created three mobile applications - Android, BlackBerry and iPhone - that Premiere Show Group can utilize to contact attendees after the show.

In this first year of e-ticketing, Next Horizon processed 2,000 e-tickets for the Premiere Orlando International show, about 10 percent of the total number of attendees. Premiere Show Groups next event is in Birmingham. Alabama and they hope e-tickets there will account for 50 percent of all ticket sales.
